Our Multi Academy Trust
Areté Learning Trust is a values-led Multi Academy Trust serving communities across North Yorkshire and Redcar and Cleveland. Guided by a clear moral purpose — to ensure every learner is inspired and enabled to be the best they can be — we work collaboratively with our schools to secure high standards, strong leadership and sustainable improvement.
We currently work with 11 primary, secondary and sixth-form schools, each rooted firmly in its local community. While united by shared values, ambition and accountability, every school within the Trust retains its own identity, character and strengths. We believe that effective school improvement is achieved when local leadership is respected, supported and strengthened.
A Trust That Supports, Challenges and Develops
Areté Learning Trust exists to support, challenge and develop its schools. We are not a Trust that centralises for its own sake, nor one that removes responsibility from school leaders. Instead, we focus on building capacity so that improvement is owned, evidence-informed and sustained over time.
Our Trust team works closely with Headteachers, leaders and staff on a daily basis, providing practical and proportionate support aligned to each school’s priorities and stage of development. Decisions are made as close to pupils as possible, with a clear focus on impact.
