Mission and Guiding Principles
Deliver exceptional educational experiences and development opportunities across the Trust.
Trust leaders will be guided by the following principles:
- The health, happiness and wellbeing of pupils and staff will be at the forefront of policy making and key decisions;
- A cross-phase approach from pre-school to age 18. This approach will be utilised to address the 'progress dip' that has potential to occur in all transitions, and to maximise the opportunities for colleagues to work collaboratively across different phases;
- Educational provision will be broad, rich and vibrant, enabling every child to thrive and succeed creatively, emotionally and academically. Opportunities for enrichment and extra-curricular development will be an integral part of each school’s offer;
- Education will be inclusive, relevant and will respect and retain the ethos of each school community, whilst being aligned to the vision and values of the Trust;
- The pursuit of excellence and ambition to become one of the best Trusts in the North of England will be underpinned by the drive to recruit, develop, retain and effectively deploy a 'premiership' quality workforce.
Areté Learning Trust has 4 key aims:
Areté Learning Trust's strategic aim for Trust growth is to improve the lives and life chances of more young people.
We can meet this aim by:
- Improving the performance of our schools.
- Providing training and support for ITT trainees and contributing to the regional supply of new Early Career Teachers entering teaching.
- Embracing opportunities to be system leaders through strategic partnerships, including as a delivery partner for the Red Kite Teaching School Hub and offering traded services to other MATs and schools.
- Attracting new schools to join Areté Learning Trust.
We want to:
- Be a learning organisation that is continually improving and ambitious for our young people, staff and communities.
- Find and implement the best moral and ethical ways to support and educate learners.
- Create an equitable Trust where every school and learner thrives, and where we regularly evaluate our actions to measure the impact we are having for our learners.
- Focus on sustainability, long-term planning, and a legacy mindset - while managing risk so we can innovate, develop, and be a leading MAT in the North of England.
- Use digital technology to become more effective and efficient.
- Support our employees’ wellbeing and work-life balance.
- Ensure all available resources are delivered to schools to benefit learners, and enable improvement and innovation as an organisational habit.
- Be an organisation where leaders are strong, effective and authentic - and develop a pipeline of excellent future leaders.
- Ensure every child has a safe, stimulating, and well-resourced learning environment.
